01/17/1920 - 12/24/2011 Ernest C. Rumbaugh, 91, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011, at Stonebridge Nursing Home, Duncannon, PA. Mr. Rumbaugh was born January 17, 1920 in Duncannon, PA, to Charles Rumbaugh and Irene Cook Rumbaugh. He graduated from Duncannon High School, became a machinist, and attended Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute. He married Anne Latusek of Reading, PA, in 1942. He served in the Army from 1943 to 1945 during World War II in Northern Africa, Italy, the Philippines, and Japan, leaving with a rank of T-4. He attended Lehigh University from 1946 to 1948 on the G.I. Bill, graduating with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
He joined General Electric in Schenectady, NY, in 1948, where he and other young engineers established the new field of nuclear engineering. He worked at the General Engineering Lab and the Knolls Atomic Power Lab as an engineer and then manager of engineering from 1948 to 1973, where he developed nuclear reactors for submarines. He worked as a manager of engineering at GE Gas Turbine from 1973 until his retirement in 1982.
After retirement, he and several other retired members of the GE Elfun society started the Toy Modification Program for Children with Disabilities to adapt toys for use by physically handicapped children at more than a dozen locations. This program received an annual award from the Elfun Society in 2001, and Mr. Rumbaugh was selected Senior Elfun of the Year by the Schenectady chapter in 1996. After passing leadership of the program to the younger 70-year-olds, he continued adapting toys until his second stroke.
He was also a science docent at the Schenectady Museum and volunteer for the GE Science in the Summer program. Raised on a farm, Ernie Rumbaugh was an avid vegetable gardener throughout his life. He was also a skilled carpenter, cabinetmaker, and handyman.
He is the widower of Anne Latusek Rumbaugh and the father of the late Richard Rumbaugh. He is survived by his son James Rumbaugh, daughter-in-law Madeline Morrow, and grandson Alexander Rumbaugh of Saratoga, CA; grandson Nicholas Rumbaugh of Davis, CA; his sister Anna Summy of Camp Hill, PA; his brother Carl Rumbaugh and sister Faye Rumbaugh of Duncannon, PA; his sister Mary Bardell of Shiremanstown, PA, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Ronald C.L. Smith Funeral Home Duncannon, PA. Viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services. A second service will be celebrated Friday at the Glenville Funeral Home, Glenville, NY. Interment will be in Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna, NY.

04/03/1944 - 12/27/2011 Alan M. Resnick, 67, of Pikesville, Maryland and formerly of Harrisburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in Del Ray Beach, Florida.
He was born on April 3, 1944 in Harrisburg, PA.
Alan was a retired salesman from George W. Cochran Co.
He was the widower of Barbara (Martz) Resnick, and was preceded in death by his daughter Tara Resnick, his father Hyman Resnick and his brother Jeffrey Resnick.
Surviving are his son Michael J. Resnick and his wife Jennifer of Westminster, Maryland, his daughter Jill R. Gerber and her husband Brian of Manchester, Maryland, his mother Ida Resnick of Harrisburg, his sister Anita Rottner and her husband Mark of Atlanta, Georgia, 6 grandchildren, and his companion Sandy Halperin.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, December 29, 2011 in the Chapel of Kesher Israel Cemetery, with Rabbi Akiva Males officiating. Burial will be in Kesher Israel Cemetery.
Shiva will be observed at 2689 Camel Court Manchester, Maryland on Thursday evening from 7-9pm and on Friday from 11am – 4pm.

01/27/1918 - 12/23/2011 Cora S. Forker, 93 of Harrisburg, widow of A. LeVan Forker, died peacefully from natural causes on Friday evening, December 23, 2011. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved spending time with her family.
She was a retired elementary school secretary for Central Dauphin School District with over thirty years’ service. She provided comfort, support, financial aid, and guidance to the children, parents, and coworkers who passed through the school.
Cora devoted her life to helping others by providing words of prayer, meals and financial support to those in need. She faithfully visited homebound friends and those in nursing homes, offering assistance and encouragement. When she learned of persons who needed a place to stay, she often welcomed them into her home. Cora had always envisioned having an orphanage where anyone could have a place to stay. That dream was not realized; however The Cora S. Forker Family of Funds was established in her honor at the YWCA to support young women and children in need.
Cora had a life-long love of dolls and was a member of the Central Penn Doll Club. She has made original dolls for family, friends, and others to celebrate special events or provide encouragement. She made several dolls for brides and dressed them replicating the brides’ gown.
Cora was devoted to her church and her faith was an integral part of her life. She was a Sunday school and Bible School teacher, wrote and helped produce special plays for the church’s events and planned and participated in a summer church camp for many years. She co-authored and published a book about a well-known minister of her church.
Cora is survived by daughters Carole F. Gibbons, Marcia F. Schreffler, son Donald L. Forker; grandchildren David Wix, Steven Wix, Kate Rauch, George C. Schreffler III, Troy Schreffler, Kelly Lynn Harden, Aaron L. Forker and Sara Miesemer; and seven great grandchildren.
Contributions in Cora’s memory may be made to the Cora S. Forker Family of Funds YWCA, 1101 Market St. Harrisburg, PA 17103.
Funeral services will be held 11AM Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Evangelical Lutheran Church 420 Progress Ave., Harrisburg, PA 17109. Viewing will be held Wednesday Evening December 28, 2011 from 5 to 8 PM at the church, and Thursday from 10AM until time of services. Burial will be at Shoops Cemetery.

7/18/1953 - 12/24/2011 Michael “Diz” Horner, 58, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 24, 2011. He courageously fought many health issues over the past five years, always thankful for the second chance he received when he was given a new liver in 2006.
He was born in Germany to the late Sgt.William H. and Mary Dunn Horner. He is preceded in death by his sister, Faye Gruver.
Diz was a kind, quiet person who was respected by many. He was a member of the Penbrook American Legion Post #730 and Progress Fire Company Home Association, where he formerly worked. He volunteered for many years at the Citizen’s Fire Company #1 of Penbrook. His love of pizza and sweets would always put a smile on his face during the sometimes difficult days he experienced while ill. He enjoyed watching football and keeping track of the local athletes and teams. His favorite teams were the Steelers and NY Yankees.
Diz leaves behind his fiancée, Maria Delaney; son, Adam M. Horner (Tiffany) of Harrisburg; and daughter, Faith N. Horner (Brian) of Mechanicsburg. He was a wonderful step father to James M. Delaney Jr. (Janelle), Rebecca A. Delaney (Devin) and Michael A. Delaney all of Harrisburg. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Lilly, Alexandra, Tyler and Wyatt.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 29th, 2011 at 11:30 am at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 6150 Allentown Boulevard, Harrisburg, 17112. The Rev. Mark M. Speitel will be celebrant. There will be a visitation from 10 – 11:30 am at the church.

11/11/1933 - 12/21/2011 Henri A. Pollart, 78, of Susquehanna Township, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2012 at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence.
He was born on November 11, 1933 in Jumet, Belgium to the late Henri and Suzanne Pollart.
Henri was retired from Godefroit Company of Belgium as a coal inspector.
Surviving are his wife Monique T. Pollart, his son Yves Pollart and his wife Lori of Harrisburg, two grandchildren Matthew Pollart, Ashleigh Pollart, a brother Andre Pollart of Belgium, three sisters Gilbertte Pollart, Georgette Aerts and Simone Piette all of Belgium.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 5pm until 7pm in the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, 2100 Linglestown Road Harrisburg.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

07/27/1956 - 12/21/2011 Robert "Bob" W. Zimmerman Jr., 55 of Hummelstown, and formerly from Middletown, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Holy Spirit Hospital as a result of a stroke. He was born on July 27, 1956. He was the son of the late Robert and Dorothy Zimmerman of Hershey.
Bob was a 1974 graduate of Hershey High School. He is survived by a son, Jeremiah Zimmerman of Texas, a daughter, Melissa Mondo of Dauphin, a twin sister, Emma Crawford of Harrisburg, and a sister, Diana Myers of Elizabethtown, as well as 3 grandchildren and 2 nieces. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Brad Zimmerman.
Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman. He truly loved the outdoors. Private services and burial will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up at Members 1st bank. Donations in Bob's memory can be sent to Emma Crawford, 3810 Laraby Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110 to defray the cost of his burial.

06/26/1941 - 12/18/2011 Pamela A. DeFlorentis, age 70 of Harrisburg, died Sunday December 18, 2011. Pamela was born June 26, 1941 in Harrisburg. She was a graduate of John Harris High School. Pamela enjoyed taking trips to the beach. She took pride in planting flowers around her house. Pamela loved to watch the Philadelphia Phillies and spending time with her friends, family and especially her grandchildren. Pamela was the daughter of the late Vincent and Elizabeth Hoch. She was preceeded in death by her brother Vincent Hoch. Pamela is survived by her son Jason Smith and his girlfriend Chanel Trimmer from York, Pa. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Caralyne, Arianna, and Nathan, as well as her neices and nephews. Pamela also leaves behind a dear, close, sister-like friend Norma Spagnola. 10/17/1937 - 12/20/2011 George W. Wilson, 74, of Dauphin, passed away Tuesday at Harrisburg Hospital.
He was born in Harrisburg on October 17, 1937 to the late George and Iola (Unger) Wilson.
George retired from the former Thomas J. Lipton Company and he was a Vietnam War Army veteran. He was a member of the Dagsboro, DE VFW, Linglestown American Legion Post #272, Perseverance Lodge #21 F.&A.M., Harrisburg Consistory and the Zembo Shrine, Usher Unit.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce E. (Garber) Wilson; his son, George Wilson of Downingtown; daughter, Georgeann Campbell of Marietta; two brothers, Richard Wilson of Mechanicsburg, Daniel Wilson, Sr. of Pacific City, OR; two sisters, Iola Claybaugh of CA, Paula Metz of Harrisburg; three grandsons, Jason, Dylan, Hunter; two great grandsons, Gabriel and Michael.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 27th, 2011 at 11 am at the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home. The Rev. Jason Mackey will be officiating. There will be an evening viewing Monday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home and on Tuesday from 10:30-11 am. Burial will be held in the Longs Cemetery, Halifax.

02/13/1950 - 12/20/2011 James R. "Gator" Robinson, 61, of Harrisburg, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 13, 1950 in Williston, Florida. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, from 1969 to 1971. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Expert M14. James retired from the Pennsylvania Industries for the Blind and Handicapped as an information specialist. He is survived by his wife Sharon Sarber Robinson, two sons, Dereck Robinson of Harrisburg, Brad Chestnut and his wife Sarah of Newville, a grandson Logan Chestnut, a Goddaughter Erin Arlotta, his mother Pearl Robinson Boston of Denton, MD, two sisters Stella Robinson, Eloise McAllister, three brothers Fred Robinson, Sr. and his wife Karen, John H. Boston, Jr., Thomas L. Boston, father-in-law and mother-in-law Robert and Doris Sarber, a brother-in-law Barry Sarber and several nieces and nephews. Helen and her husband owned and operated Hoovers Produce at the Broad Street Market for over 40 years.
She enjoyed gardening and spending time on her farm.
She is survived by her nephew Leonard C. Fisher and wife Virginia of Mechanicsburg, several nieces and nephews, and her friend Shaaron E. Foster of Harrisburg.

12/22/1938 - 12/19/2011 Donald Anthony Kalosky, age 72, of Harrisburg, passed away at his home on Monday, December 19, 2011 with his family around his bedside. He was a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College and a US Army veteran. He was the director of sales for Nutrition Inc. and a consultant for the Central Tax Bureau. Donald was a member of the William Penn Association, Lawnton Legion and the Sons of Italy. He was a lifelong musician and entertainer.
He is pre-deceased by his father Anthony J. Kalosky.
Donald will be sadly missed by his loving wife Peggy Klein Kalosky, his mother Estell Kalosky Fagan of Harrisburg, his children Janine Isaacs and her husband David Wesley of Myrtle Beach, Anthony Joseph Kalosky of Washington, PA and step son Gregg Specht and wife Judy of Mifflintown, PA.
He will also be missed by his grandchildren Robert Petras, Michael Kalosky and Hannah Specht, his brother David Kalosky and his wife Mickey of New Orleans and many nieces and nephews.
