Kennedy Ellington Edwards, 65, of Harrisburg, passed away on Saturday, July 03, 2010 in Community General Osteopathic Hospital.
He was born on December 12, 1944 in New York City, NY.
He retired from the State Museum in Harrisburg as a security guard.
He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Harrisburg.
Surviving are his wife, Dawn Ripple Edwards; 2 daughters, Revere Joyce of Brooklyn, NY, Nicole D. Edwards of Harrisburg; 2 sons, Private Darius K. Edwards of Harrisburg, Tarik Edwards of Harrisburg; his mother, Grace Edwards of NY, NY; 2 sisters, Akosa Levine of NY, NY, Lillian Edwards of NY, NY; 2 brothers, Ronald Edwards of Harrisburg, Anthony Edwards of NY, NY; 3 grandchildren, Ava Kennedy Lemelle, Alair Pelle and Wynton Pelle.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11am on Thursday, July 8, 2010 in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1439 Market St., Harrisburg, PA, with Rev. Father Leon Leitem, OFM Cap as celebrant. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
The family will greet relatives and friends in the church immediately following the mass.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Hetrick-Bitner Funeral Home, 3125 Walnut Street, Susquehanna Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kennedy's honor may be made to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
