John H. "Jack" Forbes Jack Forbes
Jack Forbes, 79, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 in Harrisburg surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 6, 1930 in Harrisburg, PA. He was the son of Paul and Margaret Forbes. He was a life-long resident of Susquehanna Township. He was a retired employee of Stabler Construction Company.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 59 years, Kathryn "Kate" Thomas Forbes; one daughter Linda Sansom; one granddaughter Michelle Goshorn and husband Jason; two great-grandsons Dylan and Reed Goshorn; one brother Kenneth Forbes and wife Cindy of Waynesboro; two sisters Patricia Zimmerman and husband Robert and Helen McCollum and husband Peter of Harrisburg and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Caroline Perva and two brothers, Paul W and Howell Scott Forbes.
Visitations with the family will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 6 – 8:00PM at the Hetrick-Bitner Funeral Home located at 3125 Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA 17109. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010 with visitation with the family from 10-11:00AM and services at 11:00AM. Rev. George S. Reynolds will be officiating. Burial will be at Shoops Cemetery immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Linglestown Life United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 1430 N. Mountain Road, Harrisburg, PA 17112.
